Notes for users of versions before 0.9.6

From version 0.9.5 to 0.9.6, some parts of hsm.xml have been rearranged to cope better with the needs of versioning management. The problem was that multiple attributes to one tag may be stored in any order. This, of course, confuses the version management. Now, there is never more than one attribute to a tag. Any further information is stored in subtags.

HelpSetMaker 0.9.6 and newer converts a project automatically into the new file format. After that, HelpSetMaker 0.9.5 or 0.9.4 will not be able to open the project again out of the box.

If there is, for any reason, an absolute need to open an already converted project again with one of those older HelpSetMaker versions, try Image Library → Rebuild image hierarchies. This should make the project completely accessible again to the older HelpSetMaker.

Multiple co-workers on a project should be able to do the upgrade individually. However, version management might complain about changes, which have already applied locally at the next synchronization with the repository.
