A normally deployed HelpSetMaker comes in a completely self-containing Java-JAR-file. Simply double-click the file to start the application.

If you start the program for the first time, it will ask you for your preferred locale (with defaulting to the system's default) and come up with an empty main screen afterwards.

Exiting the program can be done either by the Projects → Exit menu entry or by the standard close window button. In both cases, the program will save all pending changes, store its internal state and restart the next time more or less from where it was stopped.
